1. When were you happiest?

Before I discovered dissappointment.

My need for certainty.

When people laugh at things that aren’t funny.

4. What do you most dislike about your appearance?

My rosacea. People tell me all the time how lucky I am to have rosy cheeks. I tell them “It’s a skin disease.”

6. What is your most unappealing habit?

Asking the same question over and over. So I guess a more accurate response would be: not paying attention.

7. What is your favourite smell?

Coffee.

8. What is your guiltiest pleasure?

Wasting time.

9. Who are your favourite writers?

Philip Roth, Delmore Schwartz, Somerset Maugham, Fran Lebowitz, Truman Capote.

10. What is the worst job you've done?

Hostess at an upscale restaurant in New York. The combination of having to dress up, smile and ask, "How many are you?"

11. When did you last cry, and why?

I cry every day. Is that bad?

12. What do you most value in you friends?

Loyalty and that they tell me the truth.

13. What gift would you most like to possess?

To be less self-aware.

14. What was your most embarrassing moment?

Either I don't get embarrassed or, there are just so many, I've blocked them all out.

15. What is your most treasured possession?

My imagination.

16. What is the worst thing anyone's said to you?
Cheer up.

17. If you could edit your past, what would you change?

My childhood.

18. If you could go back in time, where would you go?

I’d live during the Depression. Expectations were low.

19. What is your greatest fear?

Hearing a doctor say, “It’s bad news.”

20. What is the most important lesson life has taught you?

Resilliance is everything.
