Today is World Food Day, celebrating the anniversary of the founding of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in 1945.

In order to understand our global food markets, you should read Raj Patel's Stuffed & Starved which has been described by Naomi Klein as
‘One of the most dazzling books I have read in a very long time. The product of a brilliant mind and a gift to a world hungering for justice.’

The World Food Day theme for 2009 is 'Achieving food security in times of crisis'.
