At 37, Stephanie Nolen is regarded as a formidable foreign correspondent. Currently the Delhi-based correspondent for Canada's Globe and Mail, she has covered wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, Sierra Leone, Congo and Sudan; she spent six years as the Globe's Africa correspondent, which lead to 28, Stories of AIDS in Africa.

Her coverage has won her three National Newspaper Awards for International Reporting, and three Amnesty International Awards for Human Rights Reporting. She is the author of Shakespeare’s Face and Promised the Moon: The Untold Story of the First Women in the Space Race.
